2025–26 Season Trendyol Süper Lig Galatasaray Championship

Galatasaray Sports Club has become the champion of the Turkish football league in the 2025-26 Trendyol Süper Lig Mehmet Ali Yılmaz Season. This achievement marks the club’s 26th Süper Lig title and is also notable as Galatasaray’s fourth consecutive championship. The title was officially announced following the match between Galatasaray and Hesap.com Antalyaspor on 9 May 2026, during the 33rd week of the season at RAMS Park.

After completing 33 matchweeks of the 2025-26 Trendyol Süper Lig season, Galatasaray accumulated 77 points with 24 wins, 5 draws, and 4 losses. The yellow-red team finished four points ahead of their closest rival, Fenerbahçe. Galatasaray entered the 33rd matchweek with a four-point lead over Fenerbahçe.

Galatasaray has increased its total league titles to 26, widening the gap to seven titles over Fenerbahçe, which has 19 titles, and to ten titles over Beşiktaş, which has 16 titles. Trabzonspor has seven titles, while Bursaspor and İstanbul Başakşehir each have one title among the other champion clubs in the Süper Lig.

In the second half, Galatasaray made two substitutions at halftime. In the 56th minute, Barış Alper Yılmaz laid the ball off for Lemina after a cross from Lang, and Lemina headed it in to equalize the score at 1-1. In the 62nd minute, Soner Dikmen restored Antalyaspor’s lead with a free kick, making the score 1-2. In the 66th minute, after Ceesay fouled Osimhen inside the penalty area, referee Çağdaş Altay awarded a penalty. Osimhen converted the spot-kick to equalize, making the score 2-2. In the 88th minute, Galatasaray took the lead for the first time. Lemina headed the ball down to Davinson Sanchez, whose shot was blocked by Antalyaspor’s defense, leaving the ball at the feet of Eren Elmalı. With this season’s championship, he has now secured his fifth title as a head coach, making him the second-most successful coach in Turkish football history by total championships. The record holder is Fatih Terim with eight titles. Terim won championships with Galatasaray in the 1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-00, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2017-18, and 2018-19 seasons.

Meanwhile, Okan Buruk has become the person with the most total championships in Süper Lig history, combining his achievements as both a player and a coach. With seven titles as a player and five as a coach, his total championship count reaches 12.

By winning four consecutive titles, Buruk has joined Fatih Terim on the list of coaches who have achieved four straight championships in the Süper Lig. Terim previously accomplished this feat with Galatasaray between 1996 and 2000.

Since the 2007-08 season, all Süper Lig champions have been managed by Turkish head coaches. The last foreign head coach to win the league was Brazilian Zico, who led Fenerbahçe to the title in the 2006-07 season.

Galatasaray has now won four consecutive Süper Lig titles for the second time in the league’s history. The only previous occurrence was under Fatih Terim between the 1996-97 and 1999-2000 seasons. With this season’s title, Galatasaray has matched this record.

In the 39th season since the introduction of the three-point system in 1987-88, Galatasaray has won its 19th Süper Lig title. During this period, Beşiktaş has won nine titles, Fenerbahçe eight, and Trabzonspor, Bursaspor, and İstanbul Başakşehir have each won one.

According to the tradition of adding stars to jerseys, which began in Turkey in the 2000-01 season, Galatasaray earned its fifth star after winning its 25th title in the previous season (2024-25). Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş each have three stars.

With this championship, Galatasaray has increased its total Süper Lig titles to 26, extending its lead over Fenerbahçe to seven titles and over Beşiktaş to ten titles.

Since 1959, six clubs have won the top-tier Turkish football league: Galatasaray (26), Fenerbahçe (19), Beşiktaş (16), Trabzonspor (7), Bursaspor (1), and İstanbul Başakşehir (1).

Galatasaray also competed in the UEFA Champions League during the 2025-26 season. In the group stage, Galatasaray defeated teams such as Liverpool and Ajax, finishing among the top 16 teams. In the play-off round, Galatasaray beat Juventus and advanced to the round of 16, where they drew against Atlético Madrid, who went on to reach the final. Among the 28 players registered by Galatasaray with the Turkish Football Federation for the first team, four have won their first league title this season. In addition, Noa Lang and Uğurcan Çakır have won their first title with Galatasaray. Uğurcan Çakır had previously won a Süper Lig title as captain of Trabzonspor.

The players with the most league titles in the squad are İlkay Gündoğan and Leroy Sane, each with six titles before this season, now reaching seven. Gündoğan won five titles with Manchester City and one with Borussia Dortmund. Sane won four titles with Bayern Munich and two with Manchester City.

Lucas Torreira has won four league titles: three with Galatasaray and one with Atlético Madrid.

In İzmir, fans gathered at Gündoğdu Square and celebrated with flags and torches. Abroad, hundreds of fans watched the match on a large screen by the Caspian Sea in Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital, and joined the celebrations waving Turkish and Azerbaijani flags. In Stockholm, Sweden’s capital, fans gathered at Segeltorg Square to celebrate.

Turkish Grand National Assembly Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş congratulated Galatasaray via his social media account. Vice President of the Republic Cevdet Yılmaz also congratulated the players, coaching staff, management, fans, and the entire Galatasaray community through his social media post. Most members of the Presidential Cabinet, including Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran and Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, issued congratulatory messages. The Turkish Football Federation, in its official announcement on its website, congratulated Galatasaray President Dursun Aydın Özbek, board members, coaching staff, players, and the entire community, and wished the club success in the upcoming UEFA Champions League season.

Galatasaray’s championship received coverage in international sports media. Spanish newspaper AS reported that Osimhen led Galatasaray to the title and that the club achieved its fourth consecutive championship. Spanish newspaper Marca highlighted the title win and noted that Fenerbahçe’s hopes had ended. German newspaper Bild reported that Leroy Sane had won the title with Galatasaray. French newspaper L’Équipe reported that Galatasaray, under Osimhen’s leadership, had become Turkish champion for the fourth consecutive time and published a match report. Dutch newspaper NOS emphasized the key role played by Lang in the championship campaign.

Galatasaray Sports Club President Dursun Aydın Özbek, in his statement after the championship, said the title was a gift to the Galatasaray community and thanked the fans, players, and coaching staff. Özbek stated that preparations for the new season would begin immediately and that the pursuit of the 27th title had already begun.

Maruf Güneş stated that Galatasaray had won its fourth consecutive title for the second time, extended its lead over its closest rival by seven titles, and increased the gap over Beşiktaş to ten titles.

Abdullah Kavukçu announced that work would begin the next morning to pursue the fifth title. He emphasized that the club aims for a fifth consecutive championship and highlighted Galatasaray’s status as a globally significant brand. Special arrangements have been made regarding transportation and stadium parking. The RAMS Park stadium parking area is reserved exclusively for combined ticket holders who purchased a seasonal parking pass for the 2025-2026 football season. Individual ticket holders for the championship celebration are not granted any matchday or daily parking privileges.

Tickets for the celebration event have been made available through digital platforms. Fans must first download the GSPlus application and then complete their transactions via the passo.com.tr website or the Passo mobile app using their Galatasaray fan Passo card or Passo membership account.

The ticket sales schedule has been structured according to a logical priority order based on club membership types and fan packages:

• Combined and VIP Combined Holders: First priority access has been granted to holders of the 2025-2026 Football Season Combined and VIP Combined tickets. This group may purchase tickets between 17:00 and 23:00 on Tuesday, 12 May 2026 via passo.com.tr and the Passo app.
• Loca, Sponsor and Corporate Account Holders: Holders of 2025-2026 Football Season Loca tickets, club sponsors and corporate account holders may complete their seat assignments free of charge through the "corporate" section under "tickets" on their passo.com.tr accounts.
• GSPlus Premium and GSPara Card Holders: The next priority tier has been allocated to these users. Eligible holders may purchase tickets from 23:00 on Tuesday, 12 May 2026 until 09:00 on Wednesday, 13 May 2026.
• General Sale (GSPlus App Users): The general ticket sale for standard GSPlus app users commenced on Wednesday, 13 May 2026 at 09:00.

Four distinct ticket categories have been defined for the celebration night at RAMS Park, each with an official price structure:

• North - South Behind Goals: 190,50 TL

A digital campaign integration has been established through Galatasaray’s official store, GSStore, for fans who purchase the highest-tier ticket category, the "Pitch Package." Passo, the ticketing provider, will send a special campaign code to these fans via SMS or email on Monday, 18 May 2026.

Fans must follow specific campaign steps to redeem free products using the provided code. Users are required to visit the "26th Championship Collection" category on the GSStore.org website and add one "Solo Il Gala Osimhen Box" and one "Galatasaray Dominance T-Shirt" to their shopping cart. After adding these two items, entering the received code into the system will allow fans to receive these products free of charge.
